Cheat Code Troubleshooting Guide
Most "broken" cheats are not broken at all — they are working correctly but you have hit one of a few common gotchas. Here is the diagnostic ladder, in order.
1. Is the code exactly right?
Compare character-by-character with the cheat page. Common errors:
- Leading zero dropped.
01000is not the same as1000. Many codes are short numbers with a specific number of digits. - Trailing space. The chat or input field sometimes inserts one after a paste.
- Capital / lowercase. Most cheat codes are case-insensitive, but not all. If the page shows
KGFin upper case, try that first. - Smart quotes / em-dashes. Some sources copy-paste with curly quotes or fancy dashes. If you see ’ instead of ', the game will not recognise it.
2. Did you restart the game?
Many games only accept cheat codes after a fresh session — they do not listen while a session is already running. Force-close the app, reopen it, then enter the code immediately.
3. Is your game version compatible?
If the game has been updated since the cheat was published, the cheat may have been removed. Check the entry's status: if it shows "Coming Soon", the dataset thinks the cheat has been removed or is no longer current. There is nothing you can do on your end except wait for an update from the original creators.
4. Are you entering the code in the right field?
Some games have separate input fields for cheat codes and plug-in URLs. If the page shows a URL and you are typing it into a "cheat code" field, the game will not recognise it. For URLs, you need to use the game's load file or plug-in feature, not a code field.
5. Resource links — is the file still hosted?
Dropbox and Google Drive links occasionally get taken down by their uploaders. If a resource link fails, the upstream dataset will usually reflect this on the next update. In the meantime, look for an alternative entry in the same category.
6. Network or connectivity
If you are offline, you obviously cannot load a plug-in URL. Make sure you have a working connection when you tap Copy / Download.
7. Ad-blocker interference
Some plug-in URLs are hosted on file hosts that some ad-blockers flag. If your ad-blocker is reporting a block on a "download" URL, temporarily disable it for the download and re-enable when done.
